I successfully printed a test booklet of Edictum and put it together. I need to make a few adjustments to some text. But it looks good.
Edictum is a sort of visual manifesto. I don’t think the word manifesto accurately describes what it is. I think it is more of a statement, an edict of self, of who I am and how I see the world. Some issues are to be seen in terms of relationships. Such as in issue one, the rainbow is related to all things happy and how I contrast it with skeletons, skulls, etc. Issue one spoke of me losing my job and looking towards the future with bright eyes, good hope, only to find out how life can be shit. I am making this zine to illustrate who I am, what I like, don’t like and what I can do, all as a sort of distorted promotional device. Sure it will go outside myself. Some issues will be more abstract in concept than others. But I think it will be interesting.
